Project W.I.L.D.
Project Working for Immigrant Literacy Development
UCLA
Who We Are:
Project W.I.L.D. (Working for Immigrant Literacy Development) is an education project under UCLA CSC (Campus Service Commission). We offer free weekly tutoring services on Saturday mornings at two site locations: Temple Intermediate School
TEMPLE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
Our Temple Intermediate School site is located in the Garvey School District in Rosemead, and serves first through eighth graders who are primarily first or second-generation immigrants. Many of our Temple tutees are Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese-speaking, so if you speak any of these languages, this is the site for you! Knowledge of these languages, however, is not required!
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Our Arlington Heights Elementary School site is located in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in the Arlington Heights neighborhood near downtown Los Angeles. The Arlington Heights site serves second through fifth-grade students who are primarily first or second-generation immigrants. Many of our Arlington Heights tutees are Spanish-speakers, so if you speak Spanish, this is the site for you! Knowledge of Spanish, however, is not required!
